Onsite game runs through September
Modified:
JAMESTOWN – Historic Jamestowne is offering a new onsite activity to enhance and expand a family visit to the island this summer.
“Survivors: A Jamestown Adventure,” which runs daily from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. through Sept. 3, is a game of chance that leads participants on a search to find material and supplies to help save the colony. As they explore the island, participants look for keys to survival that will determine their fortune in the New World.
“Survivors: A Jamestown Adventure” is designed for children six years and older. Players pick up their illustrated game booklet featuring illustrations drawn by local artist Bentley Boyd at the Historic Jamestowne Visitor Center to start their adventure. Participants explore the exhibits, fort site, the island’s environment and the Nathalie P. and Alan M. Voorhees Archaearium in search of keys to survival. Through luck and chance, participants find these keys and learn whether they survived and remained in the colony.
Completion of the game earns players a special reward that can be collected at the Voorhees Archaearium.

Boise will eventually be introduced to park guests once the zoological team determines he is ready. Read More
Statistics show that it is indeed cheaper to buy a home rather than rent one. With interest rates at historic lows, rising rental costs, and home prices at the lowest point in years, it is no doubt a great time to buy a home. However, many factors go into determining if it is the right time for you. There are many questions to ask yourself, such as how long do you plan to stay in a particular area?, or what are the risks and benefits? All of your options should be explored. Look for a Realtor in your area that can help you determine market trends, the right location, and how to best reach your long term goals. Many people assume that purchasing a home is out of their reach, or they simply cannot affod it. This is not always the case. More often than not, your monthly mortgage payment is considerably lower than the monthly rent on a comparable home. Contact a Realtor in your area today.

An Exciting Small Town Environment With Affordable Communities for Golfers and Active Adults From www.retirementplacesreport.com
As host to one of the nation’s oldest and most historic cities, Williamsburg and surrounding southeast Virginia locales of Jamestown and Yorktown attract millions of tourists each year. And, in recent years, a growing wave of retirees has chosen this unique region as the best place to retire.
With a significant number of resort-style master planned golf communities, together with several neighborhoods designed exclusively for active adult retirees, there is an attractive array of housing choices available for retirees. And the nearby waterways, quality golf courses, scenic parkways, hiking trails and bike paths… together with the many cultural and artistic events and functions… provide exciting opportunities for a wide variety of lifestyles and activities.
Although still a small town of only 12,000, Williamsburg is the hub of a much larger economic region and thus affords its residents access to commercial amenities and medical facilities normally associated with a more urban setting. And with the presence of a superb offering of art galleries, museums and performance venues, including those of the prestigious College of William & Mary, the city boasts a proud tradition of art and culture on a par with a much larger city, yet with the convenience and intimacy found only in a small town.
Throughout the year, Williamsburg plays host to arts festivals, concerts and performers from all over the world. In Merchants Square, residents and tourists alike enjoy concerts on balmy summer evenings. The Virginia Arts Festival also comes to Williamsburg each spring, and each fall the city comes alive with An Occasion for the Arts, an annual event that has been held for the past forty years.
